Their purpose – celebrating life in its broadest sense – underpins how they operate at work, at home and within their communities, with performance and purpose always working hand in hand.
Project Requirement
Diageo required a full mechanical services installation for a new-build transportation office which included:
The client specification called for:
7-day timeclock scheduling for energy management
Spectra Energy Group Delivery Spectra Energy Group was appointed as the specialist mechanical subcontractor, delivering the full mechanical package. The works were managed by our in-house SMSTS project engineers supported by on-site SSSTS engineers, with all activity carried out under CDM regulations. Design & Technical Scope
VRF & Ventilation Installation Spectra designed and installed:
Controls & Energy Management
This ensured efficient operation and reduced energy consumption by preventing out-of-hours running. Internal fan coils consisted of 4-way blow cassette 600m2, wall mounted wind free FCU, full ventilation through total heat exchange units each providing 12l/s per person of filtered fresh air. Each office with its own local room remote controller for local mode settings cooling / heating + or – 3oC from set temperature 21oC. In addition, we installed a Samsung Central controller with 7-day time clock facility, inputting 7 day a week time clock schedules and stop signals for the client, to eliminate the need for the air conditioning and ventilation plant to be operational when not required, this saving energy.
End Result / Client Testimonial
Spectra successfully delivered the full design, installation and commissioning of the mechanical systems for the new transportation building. Working to a tight programme, our team provided:
The new VRF and ventilation systems now provide a stable, efficient and comfortable working environment for Diageo staff. All systems were installed to a high standard and are designed to deliver reliable performance and compliant fresh air rates for many years ahead.
